Stay dry in the Oxford Hinterland motorcycle jacket: “Without doubt the best value textiles I’ve ever tested” – Bike Social
The Hinterland sits at the top of Oxford’s Advanced Tech Range – and good reason! Cut a little shorter than traditional touring jackets, the Hinterland has a more sporty feel and thanks to the Trilaminate construction it feels a bit lighter making it super comfortable to wear both on and off the bike.
• Technically advanced motorcycle jacket with a more sporty fit
• Tri-laminate waterproofing with removable thermal liner
• Direct ventilation for improved comfort
• CE armour at shoulders & elbows with pocket for back protector
• MCN review: “It laughs at torrential rain”
What is a trilaminate and why does it matter?
Laminate waterproofs used to be reserved for only the wealthiest of motorcyclists as the technology was originally only used by Gore-Tex and the manufacturing process was expensive. Now the same technique is being used by big name manufacturers at a more accessible price point. The outer material layer and waterproof membrane are bonded together. What this means to you is that you stay dry without soaking through the outer layer and the jacket becoming heavy. The jacket is much lighter weight and getting caught out in a down pour no longer means having to put on a cold, wet jacket later on in the day. A trilaminate leads to higher abrasion results, stronger seams and a significantly improved waterproof breathability rating.
Why buy the Oxford Hinterland motorbike jacket?
This is the perfect choice for riders who spend hours in the saddle. It will keep you dry no matter what and for warmer rides the improved breathability and direct ventilation will really make a difference. It’s worth noting that out of the box, the Hinterland material will feel stiffer than you’ll be used as a result of the construction but it won’t take long to soften up and after a few rides it will feel just as comfy as your old jacket.
